What is a Happy Healthy Mommy?

What is a Happy Healthy Mommy?

It's a great question. When I started this blog, I had a dream to inspire other mommy's to become healthier by sharing my own techniques. I love health. You see, this blog was birthed out of some of my pain. I was a fitness fanatic until I became a mommy. I became a junk food a holic. I think that was due to severe stress. Like most young adults, I thought I was indestructible! Boy, was I ever wrong! I've gone on to have two more kids with a grand total of 3. Between my second and third child, I developed an illness name Fibromyalgia. It took my health and totally wiped me out. My symptoms started out as syncope (passing out for no apparent reason), chest pain that was not cardiac, migraine headaches, neck, shoulder aches, lower and upper back ache, depression, anxiety, head to toe pain. I lived the first six months of Isaac's (youngest son) life on the couch in pain. I had to get up every two hours and feed, change him which was so difficult. My dear husband didn't help much because he works long days that begin at 5-6am and end at 5-6pm. He was bushed by the time he got home. At one point, all I could think was if I died, then I wouldn't hurt. I didn't entertain that notion for long. I had 3 doctors in the last 4 years diagnose me with a "textbook case" of Fibromyalgia. I never realized how it affected him until we finally got some meds that helped. One day I laughed at something my oldest son said and it scared Isaac because he never heard my laugh. It was my wake up call for sure! I was so thankful when I heard the second diagnosis that a Rheumatologist had just moved to my town and started his own practice. I was thankful because before, people had to drive back and forth to Fort Worth to pain clinics to get relief and disease management. He has been a Gift from God to me, I tell ya! I have had to go through 7-8 medication changes in the last 12 months. One of which happened in the last few days. I started looking at options on how to lessen the pain and the doseage on my medicine. I don't know if you guys read labels on your products and medicines. Some of them are very shocking! It is possible to overdose on virtually everything these days. My doctor suggested that I find some work from home so I don't get stuck on a fixed income of $300 from disability. I did my research and have found a wonderful company who has helped me use safer, healthier products. I wish I could tell you that it's a fairy tale and I don't have to use meds but I do live on planet Earth in the same reality as you. What I will tell you, is I am much healthier one year later than I was one year ago. Taking Care of myself has  become priority number one. It's the first part of being a healthy mom. If I am happy healthy and strong, then my kids will be. To me, a happy healthy mommy is one who :

1. Accepts who she is.

2.  Takes Care of Herself First

3.  Eats good nutrition just like she feeds her kids

4.  Has fun and enjoys life

5. Achieves a balance in every area of her life, physically, financially, emotionally and spiritually.

I work hard on that Daily myself!

I hope you enjoyed this article! : )
